AI-Art

Dear Folks,

Thanks Kosh for giving me the files.
DroArc Thank you as well.

I will use this thread to show off some new Cata remade Textures.
Sofar they are only psd, no ingame because im lacking beta access.

Thanks,
Quokka

Is it possible while you are doing this to create an additional set? Or later on whenever you have the time.

Basically what would be cool is to make it sort of look like how it would look with the skinner add on. 1-2 pixel border and semitransparent background.

Possible yes, but why on earth would I make it look like skinner?
Skinner does it's job good, but I don't like it.

And I think the people who use it, do this because it stands out from "normal" texture overlays.

But to be honest, if we get done with this one, I would spend the extra time between patches to improve the quality, and make it even look better than making a new one.

What could be done if we ever have a great idea, but that would be AI-Art 2

Ferous 07-05-10 09:51 PM

I hope you find someone :) I'm looking foward to AI-Art being continued in the expansion pack :)

Kosh 07-06-10 03:24 PM

I have beta access, and am happy to help out in any way I can, but I haven't got a clue what the addonkit or extrakt mean. LOL :)

I'm happy to help give back something; seems only right to help give back to the authors who have helped me with all these addons! :D

Kosh 07-06-10 03:46 PM

Okay, I think I did it. :D

It's installing now, and I'm seeing .blp files flashing past, including Vash'jr and other stuff from the new zones. :)

It's extracted about 450mb of new files. I'm compressing them now, via WinRar :)

I've also got the "interface data" folder now, as well. should I include that?

Kosh 07-06-10 03:51 PM

yay for triple posting! :D

The art archive is 205mb compressed... now to find a place to host it, cause my personal site isn't going to cut it for the bandwidth needed :D Any suggestions?

Here's a link for the Interface Data directory, though:
http://www.minbari.net/images/catacl...a_20100706.rar (800k)

Hope that helps some. I'll start looking for a way to get the art files up somewhere. :(

[edit] I'm an idiot... didn't see the ftp stuff in the first freaking post LOL :) shoot me a PM and I'll upload it for you. [/edit]

Quokka 07-07-10 01:38 AM

Thanks Kosh, I did'nt have time to check this thread yesterday.

But you got Rapidshare :) Thanks m8 for uploading them, looking in them right now.

Now lets use this thread to brainstorm and take this to the next level.
I't won't change to mutch but I should be great anyway :)

Option 1 (Updated with some fluff)
-snip-

Option 2
-snip-

Colors do look differnt than them in Photoshop for some reason

but anyway you get the point, what is you opinion about this style

One more off the brand new onces

-need to rework this image

Again let me know what would look the best, Rember this last one is in now way done, since I cannot look online to see how it turns out.
Might reduce the shine on the first version it would make more sence.

Actually, I really like a lot of the details in the new interface windows. It would be lovely if you could find a way to keep those, but blended with the AI-Art look. Here's a shot of how some frames look in game: http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...42&postcount=5

Thanks Seerah, I have looked at them. That proffesions window is the one below.

The base image is the unchanged blizzard one.
Version 2 is a remake using the blzzard art.
Version 1 is custom one only, that I am not hapy with yet.

I plan to make more decorations for the frames, like blizzard does with the new frames.

The once that ar not changed by blizzard will be remade, with the extra fluff.
Deco in corners & stuff.

Talking about the top 2 images, from the auction that is not overhauld by blizzard at this time. What do you folks like best option 1 or 2?

Seerah 07-07-10 11:10 AM

The only difference that I can discern is the amount of shadowing. Is there something else that is different between the two frames?

But I like #2.

Quokka 07-07-10 01:57 PM

#1 Hase some hidden flowers in it :)
But thanks for liking 2 it's easier to make :D

I'll see if I can come up with a nice ornament for the edges.

Seerah 07-07-10 02:26 PM

Oh - I thought that was part of the marble effect. :o

Quokka 07-08-10 01:41 AM

Updated Version 1 with a Hammer.
Still need some oranments for the edges

DroArc 07-10-10 02:58 AM

I'm korean. I do not speak English well. Please forgive me.
When you click the link below to download Cataclysm beta Art.

While I am not exactly using Skinner, I have kept this post in mind, and currently planning/making/workingon a few small pluggins to change up some of the items so that perhaps you can have grey/red button set or a grey/blue button set, and even considering a grey/green button set. I am not sure if other colors at this time would even look right.

However these pluggins will not be available until after Quokka and I get most of the image sets (directories) finished for final release. It has been a fun and interesting experience so far in working on these images, so my sets are far from complete.

I am pretty sure you were looking for a Skinner look, but I did want to touch upon the fact I would be doing some extra button packages.

Quokka 10-06-10 10:56 AM

Now that the curent version is nearly finished.

I was thinking about making a optional plugin for AI-Art that would change the whole look. It might be a second version.

For this I'd like to have idears / requests and what ever you can think off.
I'm saying that we will do this, but there will be something after this version.

So speak up if you think you have a good concept.

Tukz has already skinned a lot of the windows in TukUI, but I (and probably the rest of those who use his UI) would absolutely love to have the rest of the windows match. :p

There's already a lot of people over there on his forums that advertise AI-Art because of how well it fits in and what an outstanding job you've done with all of the graphics.

I've been working on ideas that I was planning on implementing in a future version of my UI, that might interest you. Pretty much a sleek, smooth reskin of the entire UI. The work needed is pretty immense, which is why I've been holding off for a while, but if I can dig them up, I can share some of the stuff I was toying with (it's on one of my drives somewhere, but dunno which one).

One of the biggest issues I've been dealing with before stopping for a while was no matter what I came up with, it always seemed a bit too flat. If I find it I'll send a copy of the PSD. If you like it, and would be willing to help a little, it'd be great.

Quokka 10-06-10 02:41 PM

Sure that would be a nice idea. You should have my email since I dropped you a contact on the Tuk website.

I think ladySilverWolf would like this as well.
Just need to wait a bit to finish off the last parts off this version.
mostly polishing stuff, now that blizzard fixed it on there end
