How many people like graffiti?

So, I was thinking for my next skin, do a graffiti based one, I'm bored with all the wow themed stuff, and tribal stuff, so I wanted to go in a big difference in terms of direction. Of course, as with all my skins they would still be high res and nice n pretty, but I was wondering how many people would enjoy something like this. I've found some nice graff brushes and I think I can do some insane stuff with a skin based off of them.

I actually prefer as little art as possible on my background art. Even now with the shama art I am using I am having to reset the chat window everytime I log in so that I can read the text over the image.

Oh I hear ya, but sadly, making plain-jane backgrounds is boring as hell, and there's enough of them that just remaking one with a different border, well, that's kinda cheap as far as I'm concerned. Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of people prefer the basic stuff, but hey, I personally love looking at a nice set of graphics there.

That being said, this would in no way be a basic layout, it would be full of art, and most likely intricate as hell, but that's the nature of working with this kind of art.

I know a lot of people prefer the basics, heck, it's simple enough to figure out, just look at the art downloads, the most downloaded ones are the most basic.

However, I do this because I want to challenge myself, more importantly, I feel very proud to see my hard work be in game :D. Not to mention all the compliments I get from all you guys here, anyway, I'm ranting on about nothingness, yes, it will be intricate :D there is no doubt about that.

Havoxx --

One of the first lessons I learned with the nUI project was that was no way I was going to please more than about 15-20% of the users at any given time which is why I've gone the route of the layout engine and all of the options to turn things on and off, etc.

THe point being: do what feels right to you and there will be plenty of users who dig it.

No doubt, this will be my first design working with my tablet as well, so I hope it comes out tons better than all my other work, matter of fact, it will, because I won't rest until it does :), laptops have one advantage, no real downtime :D.

Despite my personal preference for art I applaud anyone that has the patience to cut up those 5 segments cos I sure don't have any to do that :D Or a steady eye and hand :D

And, of course, your artwork is very good and I am sure that many will like it even more than myself :D

It's not as complicated as one may think. It's only a couple of mouse clicks and it's all sliced proportionately. Photoshop makes it easy that way :p

Rofl, paint shop pro doesn't seem to have the easy slicer option. Have to have a steady hand and manually size up each segment. The amount of times my hand has slipped and I have selected 511,513 instead of 512,512 segments .. rofl .. I'll just concentrate on the plugins :D

Not really my taste, but it does look pretty darn cool!

I think the Grafeti should say something like "nUI Roxs" or "nUI 4 Life". It is a interesting concept for a skin.

Depresjon 07-19-09 07:06 AM

Mmmmmm, got some good news for all of ya :D, finally out of my RV, and out of my crappy laptop, back on to my nice shiny PC. So this graff skin is going to be completely redone, on account of I had limited resources to work with ;), hello HD skin :D.
