nUI 5.01.00 has been released...

nUI has finally shed its beta status and gone live. ~yaay~

nUI is user supported software. Please visit nUI's official web site at http://www.nUIaddon.com where you will find the user reference manual for nUI, the nUI FAQ, galleries, downloads and technical support forums as well as information on how you can make a donation to support nUI.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 5.01.00
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • nUI sheds its "beta" status and goes live... /happydance

  • Split nUI into two versions... the public "nUI Lite" free version and the private "nUI Pro" version for nUI's supporters

  • Added linkbacks to nUI's new web site at http://www.nUIAddOn.com

  • Fixed a logic error in the '/nui feedback' slash command that threw an error if a bad argument, or no argument, was given to the command.

  • Yet another fix for the agro logic to prevent complex hard loops (player targets a mob to targets a player to targets a mob who targets the original player for example) which continued to cause WoW lockups.

  • Added a new set of slash commands for the feedback system...

    /nui feedback curse
    /nui feedback disease
    /nui feedback magic
    /nui feedback poison

These options allow the player to individually disable or enable each of the four feedback highlight types so that you can enable only those types you can dispell. By default all four types are enabled.

  • Fixed a logic error in the determination of who has current agro that caused WoW to freeze if any unit in the target chain was targeting itself (yes, an endless loop)

  • Added a new slash command '/nui showhits' which turns off the red/green background highlighting on unit frames when they are taking damage or receiving heals.

  • Fixed the rotation order in the unit frames to 25 man precedes 40 man

  • Fixed a logic error in the aura bars where the bars failed to resize when the target died or when switching to a new target that had no auras on it

  • Ported nUI 5.0 to WoW Patch 3.1

  • Added combat feedback to unit frames... shows a red background on unit frames when the unit takes damage, a green background when it receives a heal

  • Added debuff highlights to unit frames... unit frame borders highlight blue when a magic debuff is on the unit, green when diseased, yellow when poisoned and purple when cursed.

  • Add agro indicator to unit frames... unit frame border highlights in red when the unit is targeted by a hostile unit in the player's target chain or focus chain if no hostile units exist in the target chain.

  • Greatly improved the hit and heal indicator update frequency in the battlefield minimap for PvP/Battleground play

  • Finally found and added a fix for the annoying invisible bottom bar Titan Panel creates. This should prevent that bar from interfering with the bottom of the dashboard

  • Added the slash command '/nui hud focus' which toggles display of the player's focus on and off in the HUD. By default, the HUD ignores the focus frame and displays the player's target and target-of-target (ToT). Enabling this option will cause the HUD to replace the player's target with the player's focus if and when the player sets a focus. In addition, when this option is enabled, the ToT is replaced with the focus' target if a focus is set. If no focus is set, the HUD will display the target and the ToT as per normal.

Thanks, got the Pro release in the mail. Thanks for supporting your supporters.

Just one question. How do we go back to the original Aura icons? The tables take up way to much space on my screen. Removing garbage from the display area was the purpose of nUI. Please help me get rid of these new "Aura" windows too. :p

Wreck --

For starters, you can use the slash command '/nui maxauras {n}' to limit how many auras are shown. On my hunter and lock, who have pets, I use '/nui maxauras 15' and on the rest of my toons, I use '/nui maxauras 20'

In addition, there will be an optional plugin for those who prefer the simple aura buttons. I have just reversed the role of which is built in and which is a plugin is all.

Hey there just a question about the split view of recount/omen.
Do you have to install the plugin file or is this now built in thru a command ?
Havent found any statement about this somewhere?

The default nUI behavior is to give Recount and Omen each their own information panel. You'll need to install the plugin. You can find it in the "Info Panel Plugins" section at http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/index.php?cid=125

Ty for the swift answer Scott.
Another thing has the memory usage increased in the 5 version since i am using from 15mb to right now 25mb memory thats a big increase compared to version 4 where i used about 8-10mb.

All of the new features are using more memory, but that's not relevant to performance. There's a lot of data being stored for all of the new panels, but they only are "active" when they are shown and have no impact on the system which hidden.

If you think about it... if you take all of the mods together that nUI is replacing and calculate how much memory they're using, nUI generally comes in well under what that total would be... you're just seeing it all in one mod instead of 20 and honestly 20-25 meg isn't all that much.

:) that is true about the replacing a lot of other mods hehe.
I just noticed that its going up and down in usage from like 15 up to 30 and then down to 15 again.

Just wondering if its possible to lower the fonts inside like quest windows or just different tooltips for different things.
Sry if i ask alot of things but i really havent found an answer on it in the faq or the forums.

Best regards J

You can change the scale of the UI elements outside of nUI by pressing ESCAPE to bring up the Bliz system menu, select "Video Options" and then enable the "Use UI Scale" option... moving the slider to the left will make the Bliz frames and fonts smaller. When you have it the way you want, then close the window and do a '/nui rl' to reload the UI so nUI can fix it's layout and you're good to go.

Unfortunately when i do that nui does not fix itself back so that its in the middle.
Nui moves all panels to the left so some part of nui is not seeable .
When i then disable the ui scale function to reset it and do a nui rl it does not reset the positions of the panels so it still stays left unfortunately.
Ill research abit more to see if i can fix it somehow.

Do you have FuBar installed?

If so... set the UI the way you want it, to a '/nui rl' to reload the UI, then make sure your FuBar bars are the width of the display and centered on the display. Once you've done that nUI should recenter itself.

For the record... nUI anchors the top console and bottom dashboard to your Titan Panel or FuBar bars if you have either mod installed... so if the bar is off center, nUi will be off center, too.

Yep i got teh fubar installed well have to try and center that one.
You learn things every day :)
