DoT timer?
Hello.
I was only my Paladin on beta the other day, and when I cast consecration, I noticed a small icon underneath the player frame with the consecration icon, as well as the time left of its duration. Is this a new DoT timer Blizzard added? To what kind of spells exactly does it apply? I can see a lot of uses in this for future AddOns. |
Do you have a screenshot of this? I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about here. Are you playing the Cataclysm beta?

Hmm, interesting, I will have to watch this myself.

Consecration is an effect that appears on the ground, doesnt leave a debuff. So Blizzard decided to have a timer to show people how much time is left, just like Shaman totems. As to what other effects could apply, i would have to say Mage's Flamestrike, which is another on-the-ground effect that is very hard to know when its going to end since no debuffs are left on a target standing in it.
That's my understanding >.> |
That makes perfect sense.

Probably. Here's a picture of it. Tooltip on mouseover.

Yea, this is a nice feature. You can also right click the timer to cancel the effect, just like with totems. Will be interesting to see if the same is done for things like Flamestrike or hunter traps.

I can confirm it doesnt work with hunter traps atleast
