nUI Release News
(nUI6 5.00.05.07 / MozzFullWorldMap 5.00.05.00)
nUI6 5.00.05.07 has been released. This release fully integrates MozzFullWorldMap into the nUi6 functionality. MozzFullWorldMap, itself, has been completely rewritten to address a number of issues in the prior versions though it continues to offer the same basic functionality and features. This release once and for all addresses the taint issues in the prior versions as well as a multitude of performance and maintenance issues to include game freezes when opening the maps and zoning, garbage collection issues, etc.
Note: MozzFullWorldMap is now fully integrated into nUI6 and does *not* have to be installed separately from nUI6. If you are not running nUI6, you can install MozzFullWorldMap as a standalone addon, however. MFWM is available for download from the premium download area at
http://www.nUIaddon.com, from
http://www.WoWInterface.com, from
http://www.curse.com and from
http://wow.curseforge.com -- nUI6, at present, is only available for download by subscribers to the premium e-mail update service or the premium download service at
http://www.nUIaddon.com
As an aside, I have attached two files to this newsletter... the first, ReadMe.enEN.txt contains the instructions for MozzFullWorldMap. The second, localisation.en.lua, (sic) contains the text strings used by MFWM at runtime. If you are a native speaker of French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Brazilian, Portuguese, Taiwanese or traditional Chinese and you would be willing to translate either, or both, of these files for me, I would be most grateful. If you choose to do that translation, please just e-mail the translated file back to me at my
kscottpiel@nUIaddon.com address. Please make sure you use a plain text editor like notepad or vi to edit the files and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
NOTE: Alpha releases are not normally available to the public. I offer them for download on the nUIaddon.com as a courtesy to those users who are actively contributing to nUI's ongoing development. Once the alpha is complete, a public beta will be made available. Until then, this is a closed alpha limited strictly to those who are supporting the development. I appreciate that everyone would like to have a go at this release, but I can't handle that many people pumping me about the things I already know are broken in the alpha. I trust you'll understand. Thank you.
Please report any bugs to
http://forums.nUIaddon.com as well as whatever commentary you can to provide on the work in progress.
Happy questing!

Version 5.00.05.00 was a complete rewrite of the original MozzFullWorldMap. There is, for all practical purposes, no remaining code from the original mod. This rewrite was undertaken to address several issues in the original code to include performance problems, mapping artifacts, taint in combat and a little bit of unneeded complexity in maintaining MFWM across WoW expansions.
This rewrite no longer touches secure Blizz elements or, technically, even the existing World Map or Battlefield Minimap. Rather, this version replaces the non-secure texture elements of those maps without touching the rest. In addition, the rewrite is self-learning and self-correcting when there are new expansions released. It also simplifies the process of merging errata into the known data set (see instructions). Lastly, the update replaces the MFWM slash commands with an easy to use Interface Addons configuration panel
