Just thought I'd throw in that I'm also only seeing the quest markers, and not the shaded quest areas around the quest areas. As said above, for me that's been true since patch 5.x.x went active.
Somehow, though, I think you're already aware that's a problem for some of us! I also suspect you're working on bigger problems than that one at the moment.
