It's been a while since I have posted my current Desktop. I have been busy customizing mine with my own work (in between battling forum trolls, dust bunnies, teaching English and trying to fill the gaping chasm my kid calls her belly).
In use (pretty typical, only thing missing is a Gimp window but that is stashed on another desktop):
Clean (only Exaile's Desktop Cover module displayed, everything is minimized):
Applications seen in use: Firefox (minimized), Exaile (music player, minimized except for Desktop Cover plug-in), X-Chat (IRC, minimized), Thunar (File Manager), feh (Image Viewer), Sakura (xterminal emulator), Pidgin (in tray).
OS: Linux, Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx

My normal session is an Openbox session which runs lean and mean yet is very usable for my everyday needs (hacking, graphic design, watching videos, surfing the web, listening to music). Not much in the way of eye candy, no compositing to slow down my ancient machine.
