Minion just requires Java 6 instead of 7, you can download the latest version of java 6 from here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual_v6.jsp. They will continue to update Java 6 until Feb 2013 and I hope we have something else in place by then.
If minion really installed it self it should show under add/remove programs under control panel. Just remove it.
