The top DPS spec for hunters is 41/20/0
If you say otherwise, you're wrong.
A MM hunter will never pass a BM hunter who has done at least a little homework.
As for Surv.. The dps isn't that great, but the dps boost to others in the raid can be very nice.
MM is PvP.
