I honestly couldn't comment on the beta invite aspect, but starting a huge new project
before a major expansion seems to be comparable to cutting your head off to spite your neck.
I'm really not trying to be rude here, but you gotta remember when WotLK came out... EVERYTHING was broken for a while.
