It might be possible. It would depend on how an event like UNIT_TARGETABLE_CHANGED works.
Blizz seems to use it in the TargetFrame.lua file for the Boss Target Frame and players target frame.
No information on the event in wowprogramming or wowpedia/wowwiki sites. But is new to 4.0.
Hmm but seeing as you may not be able to target in the first instance to want this it might not help ..
