Okay this is a bit far-fetched. But why not I guess if it behaves properly when you have many other addons modifying or hooking up to the minimap frame, if it does not kill FPS rate while scanning and if it has no impact on your mouse-clicks. It is a bit like writing a letter moving your entire desk with your feet because you broke your arm and cannot move your hand.
