My apologies for not responding immediately but I don't have the PartySpotter code memorized like I do the nUI code and had to get the time to read the code to answer your question.

In any event, the answer to your question is that PS does not even look at class colors unless or until you are in a raid. At the party level, as you've already noted, it only uses the default color and there's no option to change that at this time.

I'll add it to the to-do list, however, as I can see the utility of it.
