question re: "embedded" plug-ins

first off I would like to apologize for my very n00b question that I'm sure you've been asked 1000 times over.

I use oUF_Drk's layout last updated June/11 .. one of the embedded plugins (oUF_RaidDebuffs) was updated in Nov/11.

my question is there any need to use the updated version of the plug in ? and if so (or simply that it would benefit to have the updated version "embedded") how can I go about doing this ?

You can update the plug-in by just overwriting the files. It should work as long as the layout author hasn't made any changes to the plug-in or the plug-in author has done something which breaks backwards compatibility.

I can't answer the question if you need to or not, it's really up to you.

the plug-in author noted: "40200.1
Major rewrite, you might have to change some settings. " dated Nov./11 which is long after the update to the Drk layout and scared me off enough to just leave things well enough alone.

Personally I like Drk's layout and design too much so I'll just wait it out and see.
