Learning the Ropes

Hi

As a newcomer to the UI, A quick word of appreciation.... really really nice.

If I understand this correctly the nUI + sets the basic frame layout to which we can add nUI modded plugins.

I assume that things which don't use modified frames can be loaded as a normal addon.(Like Auctionator or postal) and hopefully baggon.

I have looked around the threads sort of hoping there would be a definative list.

For instance could I use auto bar which allows you to select one of your mounts, or a type of food?

And do I just load up recount and omen and the UI does the rest?

Not much of a computer buff I'm afraid, however if you need any advice on smoothing Helicopter blades I'm your man.

Again I really do appreciate a nice piece of engineering

I would not generally recommend the use of Autobar with nUI as it's kind of duplicate functionality, but it can be done and many nUI users do.

You are correct that you can use mods like Auctioneer, DBM, etc. with nUI and that if you install Recount, Omen, etc., nUI will automatically detect them and integrate them.

Sort of cleared things up in my mind.

If nUI does it I sure as hell won't be duplicating it.

Err how do i configure it to throw up all the food types, mounts, pets etc on mouse over?

That particular part of functionality is not explicitly available in nUI at present (will be in nUI6) -- but, nUI does contain action bars and you can arrange them as you see fit.

The fact that nUI does not yet automatically place food (other than pet food) on the action bars, quest items, mounts, etc., is why some people do still use autobar with nUI.

Instead of Autobar (which was for a long time an absolutely must have addon for me), try OPie. Not sure about the food thing, but it does a lot of what I used autobar for.

thats what i'm waiting for, think i remember pointing that out a long time ago when i started using nUI, the moment nUI6 goes live with that feature, i'm ditching autobar, so fast, bolvar will feel a slight chill :P

I've already ditched Autobar since it doesn't seem to work with 4.0.1 and it doesn't look like the author is updating it anymore.

Hats off on this one clears the clutter, so far teleport (rings,tabbards, etc) mounts,trade skills...... spot on

autobar still works, u can get the AutobarMuffin release here on WoW interface, works fine for me

How do you or where do you put the autobar?

The combination of Autobar and Opie would be truly awesome.

If it matters any Solgath -- you do not have to upload your screen shots to another server to include them in the post here on the forums. You can click the paperclip icon in the message editor to attach the image directly to your post, or scroll down the message editor page to the "Manage Attachments" button

Better quality image postings, no advertisements and all that.

I may very well do a wee bit of experiementation for just a limited number of bars as the oPie is actually really good.

Well may as well do something as I am waiting for my replacement GPU.
