Looking for simple chat addon....

I'm just looking for something that will let me move the chat frame to the edge of the screen (left + bottom edge). There are addons out there that do it, but, is there an addon where this is all it does?

You don't need an addon for that. Just move it using your mouse (you may need to unlock it first).

It has a few more things but not that many. You can disable the rest in lua.
Unclamp is the part you want to enable (set true).

Maybe I'm doing something wrong then, as with it unlocked I can't move it to the bottom of the screen without using a chat addon.

Oh, maybe the editbox prevents is. My bad then.

I've actually used Prat to move the editbox to the top rather than the bottom for at least two years, so I sort of forgot it's below by default.

No, you can move it the way you describe. But it is set to stay in the screen and this setting + the border leaves a few pixel to the left and the bottom.
