Lest We Forget
Remembrance Day. Veterans Day. Armistice Day. Poppy Day.
Whatever you call it, remember those who died and are dying
for our freedom and the freedom of others.
Freedom isn't free, and in war there are no unwounded soldiers.
Whether 100 years ago, 50 years ago, yesterday or tomorrow:
We won't forget. Thank you.

Amen
No matter what are beliefs are, we should still honor the men and women that gave their lifes and limbs for our safety.

In NZ we celebrate this as ANZAC day.
Lots of people turn out at the dawn services across the nation.
The young , the old , the bold and the beautiful.
They all come.
There is no protesting. There is no fighting. There is no lolly gagging or holliganism.
There is only silence and respect.
The message stays the same no matter where you are from :
We should respect those in the military who have laid down their lives for our respective countries.
/lights candles in remembrance for allies lost and fallen

I thought I should just point out that Veteran's day is the day you honor the living who served and are still around.
Memorial Day is the day we remember those who have fallen to defend our way of life.
So find a veteran, and shake his or her hand on this day and thank them for their service!

I don't have to go far to shake a veteran's hand, I have my father at home with me (M.Cpl, 767th Signal Squadron, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry 2nd Battalion, Retired)
This video is also good to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYlrrAWCTRg

My father is currently in the U.S. Army Retired Reserve. As a previously active soldier, he was a First Sergeant of the 1/192nd Field Artillery with 21 years of service.

I was under water for weeks at a time, without drowning.
/thanks to all who have served, and a special thanks to those still serving, because without you, no one would need to thank us (we wouldn't have had a choice).

I found this online, thought it might be cool to share.
Thanks to all the vets and current serving men and women
that are now protecting our freedom and our ways of life.

Soulofsin,
I'm not even from America. I don't live there nor do I want to move there.
It still made me cry
That was a really beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it
