ncNameplates - Class icon!

Hi all!
I've created a lightweight nameplates addon. Not just a regular one, no this one has one special feature: Class icons in the nameplate! Now I would ask you if want to test this alpha version addon.

First off thanks so much for making this add, finally a perfect solution to crappy aloft.

2 things. I just downloaded it hopped in a skirm no Icons. I've tried looking for an in game config but I'm assuming there isn't one.

If there is no config the text is to small to read. Maybe it's just me.

I would cream if I could get some bigger text and get the icons working.

Edit: It popped over a hunter's head, but a druid Icon appeared over a tremer totem. I've been testing in skirms for about an hour now and it has only worked once over a hunter so far.

This is a known bug, I'm trying to fix this one out. As soon as I have that fixed(which can take up to a week because this is the weird secure part of the blizzard API and I'm not familiar with that part) it will get a small in-game slash command config which can set the font size, icon size and healthbar size. And yes, this is finally a solution for aloft.

I was curious if you had any intentions on making it compatible with shared media for bar textures?

Nope, I didn't have any intentions on making it compatible with sharedmedia, because sharedmedia isn't lightweight. I AM going to make a config part in the lua which has the following code in it:

local bartexture = "Interface\\Addons\\ncMedia\\flat"

So just open your favorite plain text editor like notepad(not word) and start editing the config file!

i think that showing the downloads would be good enough.
unless their linked from another site, also i think your nameplates
are really great, using them ATM just wish they would be !lyncolor friendly.

Just for the notice, that the bar's and name currently are class colored is a bug :P. In the next version all players will have red bars and white names, class icon remains unchanged.

Or does the addon malfunction with lyncolor enabled? Please give me more info in either PM or as a comment on ncNameplates.

Solution to Aloft? I think not. Not everyone wants the same things out of their nameplates. A great alternative to Aloft is Tidy Plates, and this addon too fills its own small niche, however "solution" is a very unappreciative and just plain wrong word in this context.

i think it is a solution, the majority of the users using ALOFT just want
to change the name plate and the text itself, ive never actually used aloft for
more than that. what other functions do you need in a nameplate? other than
displaying level name and health?

The word would be alternative. Aloft essentially allows complete control over nameplates. How an addon with very little functionality -- which is no criticism, I'm also a fan of minimalistic addons, but usually they won't fit everyone -- can be considered a solution is beyond me. Alternative.

To answer your question, though, the main thing I want out of my nameplates is threat. Probably the next in line would be the ability to change opacity depending on selection. If I'm tanking a number of mobs, I spend a lot of time looking at the nameplates, so they really have to display enough information.

What you see depends on where you stand. From the perspective of a third party, ok, it's an alternative. But I wrote this for myself as a solution for the "hugeness" of Aloft.
