nUI 6.04.03.04 Alpha released...

(v6.04.03.04 Alpha Release)

This is an alpha pre-release of nUI6 for testing use only. Please note that it is early production code and is both (a) incomplete and (b) certain to contain errors.

Redistribution of this code to anyone, by any means, for any purpose is strictly prohibited!

This alpha release should be installed *WITH* nUI5 disabled and inactive.

A preview of the unit frames and action bars in this alpha release can be found here...

The purpose of this alpha release is to continue testing the unit frame data engine and the basic unit frame layout as well as the basic functionality in the action bars, pet bar, shape shift bar, possession bar and micro menu bar. With that in mind, much of the unit frame and action bar display functionality is intentionally omitted in this release in order to get a good test of the data collection engine without the overhead of all of the graphics rendering and to prove taint stability and action execution without conflict from added features

You will *not* be able to manually change unit frame panels in the alpha... this is on purpose to fully test the panel auto switching function. The manual switching will be enabled at a later time.

In addition, this alpha does not contain auras (buffs/debuffs) on purpose as both are graphics rendering intensive. With that in mind, the default Blizz player, pet and target unit frames are enabled along with their aura displays.

This alpha does not include combo points or runes, so the default Blizzard options have been enabled for both.

This alpha contains unit frame panels for solo questing, five man parties and ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five and forty man raids. It does not contain arena panels.

All action bars are present and should function normally for casting spells and macros.

What I am and am not asking the alpha testers for...

Do not tell me about things that were in nUI5 and are not in nUI6. That's intentional and expected... the only thing we are concerned with is the base functionality of the nUI6 unit frames and action bar themselves.

I do want to know what your experiences are with the performance of the new frames, memory usage for nUI6, any nUI6 errors that are generated (including taint) and any data errors you see in terms of health, power, etc.

Hey :)

Nice work, I've been a Nui+ supporter for quite sometime and having just installed this I can see that standing in Oggy the current changes are subtle but worthwhile. However Nui hasn't integrated the chatbox for me, I'm not running any chat-related addons and although the chatbox will lock into place in Nui it wont allow resizing to actually fit with Nui.

Not sure if this is a resolution issue (1176x664) or an addon one so thought I would make a stab at being helpful

PS Because I'm a dick, WAAAAGH ITS ALL BORKEN! hehe much love.

The chat frame is not yet integrated into nUI6 -- you can, however, unlock the chat frame then drag it and size it to fit in the available space.

Hey Scott, I'm just wondering if the totem bar that I'm missing is intentional for the alpha release or if there is something I need to do to have it show. It's not a huge deal as I can just drag my "Call of X" buttons to my bars, just checking Love this addon and all the work you do for us!

Yeah... I thought the totem bar was visible in nUI6, but to be honest I haven't checked. I really need to level my shammy so I can test this kind of stuff.

No bag bar in nUi6 yet -- *maybe* in tonight's update depending on how I do with the cooldown bar and auras today.

Meh as stated mate I have tried resizing and it wont allow me to make the chat window small enough to fit in the Nui frame No big deal as this is so far the only problem I have noticed (other than inentionally missing stuff)

Really looking forward to release

For some reason when using nUI6, I can't shift+mouseover an item to compare its stats with then currently equipped item. I tried disabling all other addons and still a nothing. After disabling nUI6 the functionality returns.

Try pressing shift before hovering over the item.

And they broke nUI6 on the ptr.... (nUI5 seems to be working..) *edit This is 4.0.6.13449... Not the 4.0.6.13482 so perhaps nothing to worry about yet..

Get pretty much the default UI, just the menu buttons are gone. (Note that I'm still downloading, but I don't see how that would effect this?)

Only one error apperently.

I haven't tested on 4.0.6 yet... I've been busting my arse on getting the HUD functional in nUi6. I'll copy over after I get it going tomorrow and see if I can spot what's going on.

since 4.0.6.13482 is now up, I tried again. nUI6 seems still to get the same error.

nUI5 works but when you mouse over the "fps" indicator you get a lua error. (Haven't tested/looked at anything else..)

No idea how long this ptr is going to be up but looking at the changes, it wont be weeks.
