Bug With Version 4.301

Since I've updated Carbonite, all the settings I had, returned to default. For instance, I customized the font size, it returned to default. The "punks" option was disabled, now it's enabled again. As well as "Get character information from server." This happens almost every time I log in. Any ideas as to why?

The carbonite.lua file in your SavedVariables folder is probably corrupted. Delete it and the carbonite.lua.bak file (while not logged in) and log in, and the client will create a new one. Then you can set things as you like, and you should be good to go. Note: there are two sets of SavedVariables for Carbonite, one at the account level, and one at the individual character level. I don't remember which is which, but it's probably the character level one you want: wtf/Account/<accountname>/<servername>/<charactername>/SavedVariables/Carbonite.lua

The saved variables file that you find in your characters saved variables folder should only contain the known flight points (flight masters) that that character has found. You can open the .lua files with Notepad (on Window's), or any plain text editor, to check them if you wish.

The Carbonite saved variables that contain all of your set up information (for all of your characters) are at "Path to your WoW folder\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT NAME\SavedVariables\". You can either delete, or rename, the "Carbonite.lua" and "Carbonite.lua.bak" files there to reset your Carbonite installation, or to fix an odd bug that nothing else will fix.

That worked, only for a day or two unfortunately, then it went back to resetting everything =\

Try running Carbonite as the only enabled addon and see if the error remains.

Also:
If you are manually installing/updating Carbonite, there is a possibility that you have gotten a "bad overwrite", if you don't delete the existing Carbonite folders in your "\Interface\AddOns" folder before updating. Always delete the Carbonite folders before manually updating. Overwriting the existing folders with new information could cause corrupted files leading to errors that are difficult to track down. If that is the situation, you should delete everything Carbonite in your "Interface" folder, and in your "Path to your WoW folder\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT NAME\SavedVariables\" folder. Then download and install a fresh copy of Carbonite, start WoW and see if your error returns.

Seeing that your particular error actually gives the Carbonite main "SavedVariables" (WTF\Account\BLANK\SavedVariables\Carbonite.lua) makes me think that might be the problem. Hopefully, someone else will jump in here and correct me if I am wrong.

I am not saying that is the problem here, just trying to cover one more possibility.
