Cannot view World Map

Hello,

Ever since I downloaded Carbonite about a month ago, I cannot see the world map. As I scroll out from the Zone Map, the zone will simply disappear and other zones will only appear as I mouse over them, disappearing as soon as my cursor leaves that area. I've disabled all other addons, dumped my settings for each of my characters, and reinstalled the addon. Please help!

You mentioned having the Zone map open. Carb has big issues when the Blizz Zone Map is open. Close that using Shift-M then see if Carb works correctly. Provided it's the Blizz Zone Map you mean. Otherwise a screen shot may help to show exactly whats occuring too.

I have Blizzard's map merged into the Carbonite map. By Zone Map I meant the Carbonite display that opens by pressing "M".

Attached is a screenshot of my toon in Borean Tundra with my mouse over Icecrown. Note that none of the other immediate zones are visible unless I scroll over them.

I'm curious. You state that you "dumped my settings for each of my characters". How did you do that?

Clearing the settings from the menu in the attached picture is what I was referring to.

I actually forgot all about being able to do that on the reset page.

It's far easier (and much faster if you have a lot of characters) to just go to your "Path to your WoW folder\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT NAME\SavedVariables\" folder and delete the "Carbonite.lua" and "Carbonite.lua.bak" files you will find there. That will reset Carbonite completely back to default. Sometimes those files can become corrupted and that's the only way to "fix" them.

Unfortunately, I don't think that will fix the way Carbonite is currently acting for you. Carbonite started acting like that for me shortly after Cataclysm released, and I deleted those files in an attempt to "fix" it. It made absolutely no difference. Luckily, for me, I have my UI (including Carbonite) set up virtually identical on all of my (at that time) 32 characters. All I had to do was copy the settings from "character A" to "character (whatever)" as I got to them.

Thanks much for the work around. I'll give deleting the .lua files a shot. In the interim, has anyone successfully tackled this bug through different means?
