The way you do that is by using a different art skin available from the nUI optional downloads page. Once you have that installed you can then use /nui movers to move the relevant parts of the nUI interface away from the top of the screen to wherever else you want.

You install the addon like any other. Then once you load up wow it should appear in the list of addons. If it doesn't you have either placed the wrong folder into the Interface/AddOns folder or in the wrong folder altogether.

An example:

I use nUI_Shaman Art addon. So my addon path would be as follows:

Interface/AddOns/nUI_Shaman/

With a file in that folder called nUI_Shaman.toc. If you do not see something similar for the hunter addon then something went wrong with the install.

something is wrong with the nui hunter file. i load up shaman no problem and other skins. but hunter isnt showing up in the addons list at all.

all i want to know is wheres the file in nui to get rid of the top nui bar so i can just use titan. would be great.

only reason i want to get rid of the nui top part so it frees up real estate on my monitor.

thanks-
d

You can still use titan with the top bars. Just set the display to be transparent so that the nUI background shows through with the bar text. That was what I did until someone created an art addon that removed the art display at the top. Unfortunately that is currently the only way that I am aware of. There might be a way by editing the files but I have never gone that route before.

I currently use Titan panel with the top console up without making any changes at all. nUI should automatically register the presence of Titan and shift the top console down to make room for Titan.

It is true that you can set the transparency of Titan to 100% so all the Titan info shows up on the nUI art for the top console.

If you have the latest version of nUI and Titan panel installed, nUI should automatically move the upper console and/or lower dashboard to accommodate the Titan bars... even if you add or remove a bar in-game. If it's not doing that, then something's borked.

As for losing the upper console... you have two choices... (a) install one of the skins that does not have an upper console (I don't know why you're having problems with that one skin either) or (b) use the '/nui console mouseover' command to make the console hide itself unless you mouse over it.

A third option is to just set Titan's bar to be transparent in which case all of the buttons on Titan's bar merge into the artwork for nUI and it looks like it belongs there by default.

EDIT: btw... if you manually relocated the micro menu using the '/nui movers' command, that might account for why things are adjusting automatically for your Titan bars. Try using '/nui movers' to enable them, then right-click the micro menu to reset it to the default location, then '/nui movers' again to lock everything back down and '/nui rl' to reload the UI.

i have everything the way i would like now
and the author of the hunter ui i was looking to get, hooked me up with a mod to disable nui's top bars. which works out great. ty much

but i also have a question about fps-

my computer is 5 years old and im running with the equivalent of a pentium 3 processor, its some amd i cant remember right now. stats are 256 mb vid card (agp) and the processor speed is 2.2g and i have 2 gigs of ram.

i was reading in a thread about fps and using /nui framerate 20 and i get way better frame rates. before nui, i was getting about 20 or so in dala lag and 30 fps in old cities like org, uc etc, which to me is very playable.

Now i did a little experimenting, i noticed the farther i drop nui framerate down the better fps i get. i even dropped it to 0

and to my question and i really didnt notice a difference, other than losing the warm up bars what does the /nui framerate really do?

and is there a way to boost up my performance video wise? and i can post a dxdiag if necessary.

and also wanted to say this is my ui from now on, scott has been very good about support and the customization to this mod is just off the chart, and most of all everyone is friendly. kudos to a great "mod"

Dropping the nUI frame rate to zero shouldn't work... you should have gotten an error message when you tried that. I'll have to look and make sure about that.

What the '/nui framerate {n}' command does is change how frequently nUI updates the display of health and power bars, casting bars, auras, timers, etc. Setting a lower frame rate means nUI queries the Blizzard game engine less often to collect the data and updates the myriad frames that are used to display that data at a slower rate which, in turn, means that more of the CPU time can be given over to the game engine itself. Really the only place you'll visually notice the slower nUI frame rate is in animations like the casting bars.

ok got ya.

and yeah i was able to drop that framerate to 0 with no problems.

and im sorry for all the questions. just very curious.

so with my specs, and im currently running at /nui framerate 15 is working great for me. game runs way better than before i had nui installed.

also if i do /nui framerate for one toon, does it make it so for all of my toons?

and sorry for all the questions. just want to know and understand all the features this mod does.

No... at present, all nUI configuration options are saved on a per character basis.
