What do you think of the idea of using a separate color to indicate it is both on cooldown and active? At least that would act as a cue not to recast.

Yellow = cooldown > 10s
Red = cooldown <= 10s
Cyan = active on target with no cooldown
Blue = active on target and on cooldown (or some other color maybe?)

Not sure there Scott. I'd personally forget the colors Hence why I loved the inline Aura addon as I could position that number in a difference spot. That way I could see that bigger number is the spell cooldown and smaller number is the debuff timer. Don't worry about it now Scott unless someone else brings it up. As you say the debuff timer is the priority so as long as I know that that number is appearing as a priority it should work fine.

Anyway, I just killed some mobs and so far, once I enlarged my action buttons again , they seem to work well but usually after one cycle they are dead so not a true test so tonight will be the true test on my priest if I dps

I'll test it on my weaker warlock and see how it works for her.

Okay, this is my warlock in action on the undefeatable test dummies Seeing as she was in ironforge from the weekend test run.

I've attached a screen shot and so far the timers look to be working fine. However, if you notice I have fel armor buff. I ended up casting it on myself twice because the timer isn't appearing on my button (lower left) until I target myself.

So I guess its a catch 22 scenario. Any way of checking for buffs and putting a buff counter up for yourself if you target someone else that doesn't have it ?

On a side note you will notice that my minions health bar on the hud isn't showing up which is pretty important for a demon warlock as I need to keep him alive.

Scratch that last one. Must have been a glitch when I first logged in .. showing him after mounting and dismounting.

The only problem I see with putting a buff timer up for yourself is confusion about who the spell is cast on. Sure, for a spell you can only cast on yourself like a lock's demon armor, that's one thing, but what about spells that classes cast on others like priests and pally's, etc.... is that timer for the one that's on you or the one that's on the target?

The aura buttons on the left are really intended as the means to see what auras you have cast on yourself when you are not targeting yourself. On the other hand, when you do target yourself, they appear in both the action bars and the HUD.

Yeah understandable. Was just used to looking at the button

Anyways, I have since tested it out on Saph and Kel .. well we tried to kill kel but after 2 hours we decided he didn't want to die.

Nuff said. The Dot timers were great and worked just as well as my OmniCC and Inline Aura combination barring the numbers appearing at different times which it seems I can live with

I've attached a nice example of the shadow priest dots in action. Woot 2 less addons. Which makes up for the 2 new addons I've added to help with raid watching now that I seem to be a regular assistant raid leader

Just played my mage a few moments and noticed that the fireball proc counter isn't registering which is understandable as inline probably did something special for that to happen along with other similar procs. Its no biggie as msbt still pops up the message so lets me know to press fireball but still have to look at the auras to identify if its still active.

Come to think of it, its probably the same as the buff duration counter not working unless you target yourself I guess.

That's correct... the proc would be an aura on you which will only appear on the action bar if you're targeting yourself.
