PHP Web Developer w/ C++

Job Description

ZAM Network is seeking a web developer with experience in creating and maintaining dynamic web sites to join the Wowhead team. This developer will be responsible for creating new enhancements as well as improving existing enhancements within a high-load, high-availability, distributed environment to Wowhead. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. This role has the possibility of working remotely or working from the ZAM offices in California depending on the candidate's location.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years programming experience including experience with web-related technologies (e.g. PHP, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, HTTP)
• Strong ability in coding standard-compliant, cross-platform web pages
• Experience in relational database design
• Experience in creating optimized web pages, SQL queries, and database structures for high-load environments
• Knowledge of common web development libraries such as jQuery
• Expertise with memcached
• Experience with Linux, bash, perl, and Apache
• Experience with developing within a localized web offering
• Experience with code versioning (especially SVN)

Pluses

• Experience with Zend framework and Doctrine ORM
• Experience developing applications in C++
• Experience with Lua
• Proven experience in accomplishing tasks as a remote employee
• Passion for video games and/or World of Warcraft
• Knowledge of one or more of our localized languages
