Carbonite No Longer Uses "Area Markers"?

This could be a bug, but it might not be. It seems since 4.0.3 that Carbonite does not use "area markers" to mark where mobs are for a quest. It only uses the points to point to a specific spot, which isn't very helpful for quests with mobs that are spread out.
