Combo points gone when focus enabled

I'm a rogue, and when I set someone with /focus, my combo point bar disappears.

Do you reselect your original target after selecting the focus target ?

EG.

1. Target 1 Selected - Some attacks with Combo Points attributed to it.
2. Target 2 Selected - Set to Focus - No Combo Points attributed to it.
3. Target 1 Selected - Combo Points shown.

EG2.

1. Target 1 Selected - Some attacks with 2 Combo Points attributed to it.
2. Target 2 Selected - Some attacks with 3 Combo Points attributed to it and set to Focus.
3. Target 1 Selected - Some attacks with 2 Combo Points attributed to it.

As far as I am aware the combo points display is only for your current target. And once you change targets the display will change to reflect that status.

However, if you are talking about a combo points display on your targets box in the bottom of the screen's dashboard that doesn't get transferred to the focus window in the bottom center then you might want to see what Scott says on it. Perhaps that option was never attributed to that frame for one reason or another.

Okay, just took a look at the layout files for solo play and can see why if my last idea is what you are talking about.

Folder : \nUI\Layouts\Default\UnitPanels\Solo or Party or Raid etc

Files : nUI_UnitSkin_SoloFocus.lua and nUI_UnitSkin_SoloTarget.lua

In SoloTarget.lua you have this block in it :

Code:
		["ComboPoints"] =
		{
			anchor =
			{
				anchor_pt   = "CENTER",
				relative_to = "$parent_Label1",
				relative_pt = "BOTTOM",
				xOfs        = 0,
				yOfs        = 0,
			},
			options =
			{
				enabled = true,
				size    = 20,
				strata  = nil,
				level   = nil,
				orient  = "CENTER",
			},
		},
You might be able to put that into the SoloFocus.lua file and have combo points appear once you have adjusted thee anchor to where you want it to appear. Assuming that the focus window is programmed to update the combo points frame with data.

The problem with using combo points on the focus frame is that the combo points interface (last time I checked) only applies to your target which is why there's no combo points section in the focus frame configuration. *IF* the focus and the target happen to be one and the same, that's okay, but otherwise it is a problem.

It's possible this changed and I didn't know about it though.

No, thats not what i'm talking about.

For instance, I select a MT or another rogue as my focus, so I can easily select them for Tricks of the trade. I then retarget my main target. Combo points are no longer appearing in the HUD.

I could care less about seeing combo points in the focus frame itself.

Ah that sounds like a bug then if combo points do not have a timing system where they wear off if not used.

I'll have to play with that and see if it is a bug or not.

Okay -- I spent some time this morning working on this and I can't reproduce the error.

I set a focus on a mob and went to town on several of his friends, I never had a problem with display of combo points either in the HUD or on the target unit frame.

Can you tell me a way to reproduce the error every time?

Did you start fighting one mob and get 1 or more combo points added , set a focus on another mob, reselect original target to see if combo points still there ? It sounds like that is what Nerf is talking about.

Hmmm... I'm not having any problem with the combo points on either the HUD or the target unit frame. Is this a rogue or druid kitty form?

You are running 5.06.04, correct?

If you disable everything except nUI, you still have no combo points?

I tested it on my rogue for about an hour and a half this afternoon and never had a problem with my combo points.

Ok, not sure what else to try, but heres screenshots of it working without /focus enabled.

Now, i simply target myself, and do /focus. Notice in this screenshot the small map in the middle is replaced with my focus as it should be. Thats the only change. (Both screenshots you can see 5 combo points in the target window)

Ah ha!

You have your HUD set up to display the focus, not the target, when you have a focus. Note that your combo points do appear on the target unit frame, but the HUD is displaying your focus (you). You don't have any combo points on your focus, so there are no combo points being displayed in the HUD because the HUD is your focus, not the target.

Use the '/nui hud focus' command to turn that off and then you'll see the target in the HUD and your combo points on the target.

Aha! That's odd. Is that on by default, or did I somehow enable it when learning the UI?

awesome , well problem resolved. And like most bug reports (i'm sure) you can notch this one up as user error!

thanks for the prompt replies!!
