Objective is not in the database

(this is a repost from the WoW official forums but I figured here would be a better place)

This is driving me crazy! I came back to WoW for MoP and I don't remember ever having this issue before. I have updated Carbonite so that is not the issue....

I know this message can show up for rarely done / new quests which aren't in the database, but this is not the issue I have. This happens on lots of quests, mostly when the objective is not in the zone I currently am. For example, I just picked up the August Celestials Daily sending me to White Tiger temple and it's not trackable... Heck, the Blizz internal addon works, so why-oh-why would Carbonite not pick that up? This also happens on non-daily quests, so it's no that quest in particular, happens on ALL quests that are not in the zone and I seem to remember getting it on quests that were in the zone too.

Sometimes, I don't know why or how, they end up fixing themselves.. Not sure if it's zoning, re-logging or what, but quests that weren't trackable minutes before become available.

What the heck is up with that? It's really driving me crazy, I really like Carbonite and I'm not a big fan of the internal Blizz tracker, so I'd really like to find a solution for this.

While we're at it, since a couple of Carbonite updates ago, I get a message that says something like "Get data from server for ..." whatever when I first login... What's up with that? I don't remember ever seeing this in older versions. I found there's a checkbox to disable it and I did, I don't know what impact it will have.

Any help would be appreciated...

Never personally came across this error myself while running carbonite but I did troll the forums to look for another similar topic that might help.

Someone in there gets down to explaining what this means

Would like to have more clarification though if anyone has a detailed answer.

Cheers, Hope this helps

Welcome back to WoW xsinx!

Allow me to catch you up on things carbonite side,

When MoP was unleashed upon us, the original authors faatal and haavok decided they no longer had the time to continue updating Carbonite. They released it to the world in it's original form and basically told us to Have fun with it.

I was selected by the community and the staff of the interface sites to become the new person responsable, mostly for 2 reasons... 1) I was already releasing updates leading up to MoP, and 2) no one else volunteered :P.

But with this came some complications, because none of us know the code inside and out like the previous authors we are learning as we go on how everything fits together so some parts of it are not yet up to date with MoP's content, and some is coming soon / in testing (like microdungeons and gathering nodes)

TLDR summary: Carbonite doesn't yet have pandaria quests, it tries to learn from wow but it's not perfect.

Nice of you to take over the project Rythal. What troubles me though is that I don't see anyone complaining other than me on this issue. I looked on the official forums, asked around in my guild and I seem to be the only one stuck with this issue.

I'm a pro software engineer. I don't have experience with WoW add-ons but if there's any specific thing you want me to look at, I could give it a shot. This is a nice add-on and having it perform badly like it is now isn't cool, can't let that happen
