Cast action

The interface combat option "Cast action keybinds on key down" isn't working for me. I guess it's because nUI uses it's own keybinds,
e.g Key Bindings option -> "nUI Main Bar / Action Page 1" instead of "Action Bars Functions".
When I try to change a keybind to "Action Bars Functions" it still adds it to nUI's keybinds.

You should be assigning the macro or action you want to cast on the key down the nUI action bar button you want to cast it from, not the Blizz action bar.

That is correct.

Also, in the future, you can just upload your screenshots right into your message... use the paperclip icon in the message editor, or scroll down the page to the "Manage Attachments" button.

Well, that's the problem. When I use the keybinds on pic1 the "cast action keybinds on key down" option isn't working.
But if I disable nUI and use the keybinds on pic2 (since I can't keybind to them when nUI is activated) the option works.

Anyone else that got this problem? Or do you all got the addon SnowFallKeyPress (which I've just found and is using atm) that makes it work with nUI.

Okay....

I am completely lost. I use key binds (almost never click) and I have the "on key down" option selected and have never had a problem with key binds not working.

Looking at the screen shot you have provided... I can see the key binds are correctly assigned to the nUI action bar and that they are being displayed on the action buttons. To that end, I would expect that when you press '1' on your keyboard, the "Incinerate" macro you have assigned to it will fire.

The question is why.

If you assign a simple spell to the button, dragged out of your spell book, versus a macro and you press the '1' key, does the spell fire? If it does, then we know the key binding is working and we need to look at why the macro is not.

Can you please post the source for the macro so I can try it on my system and look at it?

Ok, I tested it as you said. First with Incinerate with the macro and then with only Incinerate with no macro. Both didn't fire when I pressed the key down.

The macro is:
#showtootip
/cast Incinerate
/cast Devour Magic

Okay... we have a conflict somewhere then. I have no problem casting Incinerate via key bind with my Lock and your macro works fine in my bars.

Have you done a clean installation of nUI as per the instructions here: http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=37330

If you haven't, I would ask that you try that. Something is preventing your key binds from working correctly. I would be curious to see if the clean install fixes it or not.

Ok, I followed the instructions and did a clean installation of nUI, but the problem is still there.

I am at a complete loss.... you drag a spell from your spell book to the first action button, you have that button bound to the "1" key and it says "1" on the button face yet when you have a target and press "1" the spell does not fire?

o.O

If you press and hold the "ctrl" and "alt" keys at the same time, then right-click the first action button, it will open the key binding window for that button. Does the button say it is bound to the "1" key?

Also, are you using the "1" key on the top row of the keyboard, or the "1" key on the number pad on the right side of the keyboard?

I am unaware of *anyone* else having problems with key bindings not working.

Yes, it says it is bound to the "1" key when I press ctrl+alt+right click on actionkey 1.
And I'm using the "1" key on the top row of the keyboard.

I have no clue here.

Anyone have any ideas what the issue may be?

This may be a dumb question, but I don't think I have already asked it... are you using any other mods with nUI? If so, have you tried turning them all off (including any nUI plugins you may have) and using nothing but the core nUI mod itself?

I did a clean install and had only nUI showing in the addons panel. So had no other mods or nUI plugins.

kenoboll is your problem that the key bindings don't work at all or only it doesnt fire when you press down the key and it works on press up?

Then I think that nUi doesnt have built in the on press down function.

The same seems to be happening to me with my copied over character from live to the 4.2 test server. Whether it is a problem with redundant data I don't know.

Regardless of option setting it will only work on key release.
