A count of Kill to the people!

For us who like to keep track of what we kill and how many we kill, a kill counter is a really nice thing to have.

"Now, what's the problem?" you might as. Well, there used to be an add-on that just about filled those shoes, called Killlog.
http://www.wowinterface.com/download...p?id=6695#info

It seems that the author has abandoned the add-on and thus - here goes nothing....

Is there a kind soul out there who would like to update this add-on or make a similar (but better?) add-on?

Best regards

I also like this addon. Hoping someone will hear your plea and take up your cause.

It doesn't work properly at the moment, and generates a global error on activation;

2. An improvement would be faster and more efficient ways to see the creatures in your session list and overall list. But most of all would it be a great thing to have it back and "up and running" so to speak

What would make it better (imo) is an option that would let you select the kills you wanted to watch. Like it's own tab. Or maybe even multiple watch lists. I could have a Blood Sail's pirates page, Bogflare page, a rare's page. And these items would be saved even if they would normally drop off.

I did use it for a while and kept getting an error. I'll redownload it and see what it was.

Honestly, I would like something that could do the following:

- Creates a movable/resizable icon (or icons) of "watched units"
- Allows you to choose to increment per kill or decrement from a certain number value.
- Save the information between log-ins.

Something like Qbar, only for monster kills. Man, would it make Booty Bay more interesting!

The achievement log not getting it done for you? I'm pretty sure you can find almost any statistic you want (and then some) in the achievement log's "stats" tab. I'm not suggesting anything by Blizzard is 100% accurate, but it's a safe bet it's as accurate as any 3rd party Addon.

The achievement log is far too simplified to my taste, giving you # of kills, and creature family type, but no specifics as this add-on does. Plus this add-on keeps track of you max hits with different attacks.
So, in simple terms; "The achievement log not getting it done for you?" No, it doesn't

I'll report this on the main page but my first error is:
Interface\AddOns\KillLog\KillLog_ListFrame.lua:154: attempt to index global 'QuestDifficultyColor' (a nil value)
Count: 1

Call Stack:
[C]: ?
Interface\AddOns\KillLog\KillLog_ListFrame.lua:154: in function `KillLog_ListFrame_Update'
Interface\AddOns\KillLog\KillLog_ListFrame.lua:730: in function `KillLog_ListFrame_Tab_OnClick'
[string "*:OnClick"]:1: in function <[string "*:OnClick"]:1>
and my second is:

Interface\AddOns\KillLog\KillLogFrame.lua:1341: attempt to call global 'GetDifficultyColor' (a nil value)
Count: 5

Call Stack:
[C]: in function `GetDifficultyColor'
Interface\AddOns\KillLog\KillLogFrame.lua:1341: in function `KillLog_GetDifficultyColor'
Interface\AddOns\KillLog\KillLog_ListFrame.lua:171: in function `updateFunction'
Interface\FrameXML\UIPanelTemplates.lua:241: in function `FauxScrollFrame_OnVerticalScroll'
[string "*:OnVerticalScroll"]:1: in function <[string "*:OnVerticalScroll"]:1>
[C]: in function `SetVerticalScroll'
[string "*:OnValueChanged"]:1: in function <[string "*:OnValueChanged"]:1>
The kill log page itself is blank but the tool tip works like a charm. So yes I'm hoping someone with addon skill will pick this on up and run with it.

Ok, since it seems like this is dragging on I am wondering if someone could give a hint/tip on what's wrong and a general idea how to fix this addon so I can give it a shot myself.

Any takers?

Try changing 'QuestDifficultyColor' and 'GetDifficultyColor' to 'GetQuestDifficultyColor', report back with your findings.

Unfortunatley that didn't work, it seems like there is an error in the function call;

Code:
Message: ..\AddOns\KillLog\KillLog_GeneralFrame.lua line 147:
   bad argument #1 to 'getn' (table expected, got nil)
Debug:
   (tail call): ?

It's not exactly what you're referring to, and I haven't updated it recently, but perhaps you might like to take a look at my addon Bragging Rights.

It keeps track of everything you kill and gives you a little report that you can peruse or can post to a forum (as it includes both text and bbcode versions of the report).

Even if the idea seems fine, Bragging rights isn't really the same. Killog is mor a log of your kills by type, and it displays that number (with avreage xp in the tooltip as well), plus max values for different attacks etc

Thanks for the tip though

Bumping this one final time in hope that some kind soul out there will take a stab at making this great addon come to life again.

Pretty please, if you can, at least take a look at it.

Unzip into the addon folder. It should fix the most obvious errors you are getting, but bear in mind that these are band aid fixes.

Yes, your KillLog savedvariables file is most likely corrupted. You can try to manually recreate the missing table (in order not to lose your other data) by typing :

/script KillLog_AllCharacterData["death"] = {}

...then reloading the UI, or if that doesn't work, exit WoW and delete your savedvars file and try again.
