Probably because you are on the release version...

The release version is NOT SUPPORTED.

In curse client, right click carb and select alpha from the "prefered release type".

You and me both know that the release version is the old carb.

TBH I don't see why the alpha is not renamed to the release version... It would solve most of the bugs and problems that 90% of the people report here.

it's a hard judgement call... I can officially release it as the new carbonite, even with all the missing parts... or I can keep it as alpha... either way it's going to lead to people complaining.

On the one hand it will be people complaining parts don't work, or are not yet implmented.... on the other it's complaints the release version doesn't work anymore.

Personally...I like that you're leaving it as the alpha version until you have it finished at your own leasure...at least then we as users Know that it's got places that might not be completed and while sure you might get complaints like mine was ( maybe not a complaint more of an informational request. )...but then we know when we boot it up and become beautiful...that it's not the "released" and "completed" version...

So please...keep up the excellent work and keep your honor and integrity intact!

You're right. I just forgot to add the Smile icon -- to my statement. ha ha.

I just thought it was funny because most "Released" versions are useable, with the exception of a very small number of errors which users can then report and have fixed (in that version) --- while the "Alpha versions of the Beta versions" are still-in-work.

Yes, I agree with you. That name could/should be ammended by changing it to something like "Old Carbonite" or "Original Carbonite" to distinguish it from anything related to the still-in-work new "Carbonite II."
