Mscott -- I've never used Proximo, so I know nothing of this mod. What are the features in Proximo you're using that make you want to have it for arena?

proximo is a Simple enemy unit frames for Arena matches

it makes it easier to target your opponent and shows their health and mana. the function i like best is when you mouse over your enemy it puts their unit fame in the box.

its a light weight mod.. you will have to try it our it has alot of nice functionality.

Round Minimap and Fixed Tooltip Anchor

Speil,

Let me add one more WOW, GREAT JOB, YOU READ MY MIND, THANK YOU to the chorus =)

nUI fits virtually all of my wishes for a interface, mainly by putting 99% of the interface *out* of the viewport in a single, easy to install, consistent interface. I was skeptical of the HUD, but the Beta 2 HUD is much more eye-friendly and I'm close to being a convert on that.

Now the obligatory "but" =) I prefer to set my minimap on rotate, but with the square minimap in the infopanel, it makes a funky stretching/squeezing square as it rotates. Before asking you to Change Stuff, is it possible to make it draw a round minimap in the infopanel with a trival lua tweak I can edit myself?

As an alternative, I figured out how to set enabled = false in the minimap lua, and that skips the minimap infopanel and puts the regular minimap in the upper corner. That's fine by me too, but will that break anything else nUI is trying to do with the minimap or the infopanel?

And one more question, when I set tooltips to fixed, they are positioned in center of left edge of screen. Is that anchor movable, or how can I move the fixed tooltips to just above the bag buttons?

Once again, thank you very much all your hard work. You have helped make the game more fun by getting the interface out of the way of the action.

Thanks for the kind words... they are much appreciated.

No... setting enabled to false on the minimap panel will not break anything. I've tried hard to make all of those pieces parts are optionable as I can. That said, it would be pretty easy for me to add a round minimap option to the slash commands and mask the minmap accordingly. I'll add that to my to-do list... I just need to create a second mask and a compass ring for it and can toggle between them based on the slash command. Not a big deal... might even be able to fit that in tomorrow's update since it's pretty trivial.

As for the tooltip anchor... yes... that's movable. Use '/nui movers' and you'll see a red highlight box where those tooltips appear... just drag that to where you want them and issue the '/nui movers' command again and you should be set. NOTE: You need to have the v2.02.00 or later installed for that to work as the v2.01.00 does not save the mover locations.

EDIT: Like I said... this was a pretty trivial request, so it's already done and will be in the next update.

I have 201 addons installed, but nearly none of them dis[;ay anything on the screen. Sure, Omen comes up when I'm grouped, and sometimes I put up a quest tracked, but other than a single Fubar at the top (20 pixels) and an 80 pixel band at the bottom for two chat windows and 4 rows of 12 buttons, my screen is basically all game. I do play widescreenaand use viewport to give me the 'safe' areas for fubar and my buttons and chat but I prefer UIs that are super clean.

I thin the default UI is too cluttered. I even have autobar and some other bars set to fade to 0%.

Proximo's BEST feature is that when I mouse over an opponent, that opponent shows up in EVERYONE's Proximo.

I won't do arenas unless the entire group has proximo installed. It's like trying to kill Gruul without Omen installed. Sure, it's possible, but it's stupid.

You are absolutely correct... it is a pure matter of personal taste. Some people like an empty UI, some people want every bit of information they can get their hands on. Some people want one button they can use to cast 200 different spells from using nothing but an endless array of varying key combinations while others want 200 keys on their UI. Some people want a 3x3 pixel box to turn 50 different shades of pink to tell them whether or noth they are this, that or the other thing, someone else wants a stream of messages across the screen in agonizing detail.

So what's the point of debating it? Neither side is right or wrong... it's just their personal preference. If you want to use 200 mods you can't see to do things you don't know they're doing because you can't see them doing it, good for you. Others feel differently.

Of course, in time, you could use one mod to do those 200 different things for you that you don't see... you would just have to reskin it. But that's another conversation.

In any case... I appreciate you expressing your opinion.

Great job on the redesign. I'm just waiting on FuBar/Titan support to be added back in(unless you put it back in in 2.0.2 or whatever teh latest version is called). It seems less laggy in AV(it used to "click", like freeze for a split second, then I'd "teleport" a few steps forward, but my framerate was never low; almost like the UI was garbage-collecting or something), and I like the feel of it a bit better(though getting used to the new button placement being vertical and not horizontal is wierd; I have keybindings but still click for some reason, lol). Keep up the good work, man. Watching this develop is inspiring me to go get a book on LUA and actually learn to code LUA(and maybe even go back to school for software development, lol).

The Titan/Fubar integration was added back in the 2.02.00

Thanks for the kind word, as always.

Key-bind keys

Hi spiel,

nUI takes up a fair chunk of the screen, and looks somewhat "massive", but I'm ready to try it out on an alt or two.

Question: are any of the barslots (like the 2 sets of 6x2 vertical bars) key-bindable?

Thank you Mscott.

I'm not sure if the combined recount/omen recount/ktm feature will come back or not. I took a LOT of heat for it from a lot of people. I'm with you, I thought it was a great feature, but it also generated more hate mail than just about any other choice I made in the first beta.

Perhaps that's something I can do as a custom info panel for folks like you and I at a later date.

Smile Carbonite

Hi Spiel,
Once again great work, loving the ui. I use Carbonite and have the minimap docked and hidden. Currently I have the Map keybound to show in the right side info area and looks great. Is there anyway I can get ths to work using the minimap/omen/recount etc cycle button?

With the exception of the two bars that are located below the chat frame on the left and the info panel on the right, the bars all support the standard Bliz action bar keybindings in the Interface/Key Bindings section... the pet bar and the main action bar use their respective key bindings. The bar immediately below the main action bar to the left of center uses the "BOTTOM LEFT" key bindings, the one to its right uses the "BOTTOM RIGHT" key bindings. The two bars that are 2x6 on the left and right of the unit frame panels use the "RIGHT" and "RIGHT 2" action bar key bindings.

Is there not enough room to place them side by side in that panel. I too liked the feature in beta 1. having them side by side woul surely keep everyone happy but then that would be impossible.

At present, no... I have done no integration work with Carbonite at all. However, given the popularity of this mod, I'm going to. So, in the future, yes.

I proposed putting them side by side about 3-4 weeks ago when I was prototyping all this and got very mixed reviews on the idea. The biggest problem I ran into with it, however, was the issue of having three mods to contend with -- recount / omen / ktm -- without getting into the specifics of how the info panels work now, I don't have the luxury of all three of them having the same parent frame anymore and you can't change parent frames in combat... so... if you have a panel that is Recount/Omen and another that is Recount/KTM then somehow Recount has to have two different parent panels at the same time, which it can't, or you have to change its parent when you change panels and that would taint in combat.

So... I abandoned the idea.

HOWEVER, before you begin the mourning process ~smile~ the info panels are plugins. You can add new info panels as separate mods to nUI and have them integrate right in. So, once I get things settled with the core nUI app, then I can do things like create a custom Omen/Recount panel that you can download and have replace your individual Omen and Recount panels with a combined panel, etc.

So... keep the faith ~smile~

it not a necessity just a creature comfort. thanks any how :-)

donation sent your way.

one other thing that i used to have when i used perl unit frames was an audio warning when a mob agroed on me. how hard would that be to add in?

not a big deal.. but im of of those guys that likes every kind of warning telling me what is going on. as a healer i dont see the whole screen alot in the big raids.

Thanks again

Lackin -- Whatever your display can handle. The nUI dashboard graphics are rendered at 2560x512, so any display width below 2560 is actually reducing the graphic size from its native format. Aside from that, nUI will scale itself to fit any resolution WoW can support.
