Flux UI

Been working on my UI for quite some time now. I'm finally at a point where I'm happy with generally everything and I'm just looking for any comments / criticism and see if there's any interest from people that would like to see it released.

This UI is generally meant for raiding. I raid as a mage but don't think there are many if any class specific addons or what not so it should work well for just about any class with maybe a few adjustments here and there.

Any who here's a basic screenshot of it just in action in an ab to get an idea where grid is and bars would be etc. I can make some more screenshots if people are curious about anything else.

If you have any questions or what not please ask.

Looking forward to some input.

Wow, that's actually really freaking cool.

This going to be mainly widescreen or will there be a version (eventually) for both normal and widescreen?
Are those x-Perl UFs? That's the nicest I've ever seen those.

Nice work!

Yeah right now it's only go to be 1680 x 1050 initially, mainly because my lack of a non-widescreen monitor and having to edit the graphics and play with a bunch a things, but I'll see what I can do.

..and yep that's X-Perl. Always been a fan, have been using them for a while now.

Thanks for the comments and criticism any more is also greatly appreciated.

Its looking pretty clean tho i dont personaly like the mixed textures you have if it was me i'd try to go for cleaner and all matching textures.

Same goes for all those buttons do you realy need them all?

Other then that i'd say that its a pretty neat UI.

By mixed textures do you mean the bars or the recount window?

If you mean the recount window I can see that, only kinda threw it there because I was experimenting and didn't like the default look. I'll see if I can whip something up to make that match.

As for the bar textures though only difference is the casting bars and 'gonna steal aggro' bar on omen. I like the omen one different so it sticks out better and I've tried other textures for quartz but honestly they all looked weird with the exception of lite step.

Thanks again for the feedback, keep it coming :]

There's a texture you might like for Quartz that would pull the textures together a little bit better.
It's called Smoothstep. A remake of the Litestep skin. I found it on the Ace forums but don't recall who actually made it. I don't think it's been included with sharedmedia or anything yet.
Try that and see what you think.

Edit: Looking at the screenshot again and I just noticed. The minimap kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. Just thought I'd add that.

Looking very nice. Glad the texture worked out for you. Looks great I think too.

Look forward to trying this out.

Btw, the person who made Smoothstep is named Rads for proper credit.

Yeah I'm not too happy with the buttons either. That mod would have been nice but wouldn't work. It'd let me move the buttons but would force scale them all up to 1.0 no matter what I did which looked horrible.

I've also tried minimap button frame but wasn't too happy with the results from that either. It just ordered them in an odd way and with the tracking button in there being bigger than the rest just wasn't too happy with it.

Was messing around with eePanel:

http://www.mirroredwhite.com/images2...ui_minimap.jpg

Better than default I guess but the way I was skinning them with eePanel just you can still see the default gold border and under them and the shadow from the circular border. Plus this way isn't too friendly with adding new mods and what not.

So... anyone have any good ideas? I'm kinda stumped with what to do with them in the meantime.

Check into MinimapButtonBag (MBB). I think it is on this site. It takes all the buttons you have on your minimap and puts into 1 button. Then you just click on it to expand the list. I use it myself to hide about 6 addons that only require to be set once then dont need to be available anymore after that.

Edit: here - http://www.wowinterface.com/download...ButtonBag.html

Yeah I like that addon a lot, I'm already using it in fact I just changed the icon. Still looking for something better to do with them though. Including the blizz ones I don't have hidden and the MBB button. They just kinda seem to stick out.

I'm using Bartender 3 skinned with cyCircled. Sorry for the lack of updates, been busy and all and stumped on what to do with the minimap buttons. Think I figured out something to do with them though. Should be an update soon.
