Have the maps drastically changed or something? When I open the map now, I have to zoom WAY out not just to get names of towns and stuff to show up. Any idea what's going on here or is this a new "feature"?

I have the same problem. I accidentally found out that double-clicking the map will zoom you out to a more normal view. Hope this helps.

Fixed this problem. Found a solution in another post. See link below. Just adjust the numbers to your preference.

Right click map, select 'Scale...'
Adjust the slider 'Details at scale'

This controls the point at which the map transitions between the detail map and the regular map. We changed the default in the last release to make the detail map kick in a bit sooner.
