Ephemeral Help/Request

Ephemeral is a wonderful RP-enhancing mod, and is a staple of many on RP servers.

The creator of this mod, Slaighe, has now left WoW.

www.ephemeralproject.com is where the last version of it can be found.

The problem is that the recent patch (I think it was 1.5, but it may have been 1.6) broke the ability for this mod to transfer player-created books. If you try to give a book to another player, the recipient will be disconnected from ther server. The ability to transfer "props" still works, however.

This is a plea from the RP community to fix this little gem of a mod. It's such a wonderful tool. There are some issues with the interface of the mod also, but they aren't as dire as the book transferring.

Here you go. This should take care of your disconnect problem.

The disconnects were caused by the \n (newline) characters being transmitted.

This patched file strips out and encodes newline characters when sending books and then decodes and inserts newline characters when the book is received.

Simply unzip the file into your existing Ephemeral folder, replacing EphemeralUtility.lua and restart WoW and you'll be good to go.

ok 1) your links don't work I can't download this so called fix.
2) I tried downloading fixes from else where on the site and none worked the game doesn't just crash from transfer of books it crashes from ANY whisper sent to or from me as well as doubles the whispers.

Like I said I tried so called fixes for this and can't find one that works. I would appriciate some help. I have been posting EVERY where for help on this.
