Last night i just joined this website. My friends said it had the best mods ever for WoW. I'm looking for some Mage mods, which i found a few, but i wanted to know what the mage builds are, what they do, and what they specialize in so i can choose what build I should be if u have any thoguhts or suggestions for a new mage please reply. I'm very confused as to what build i should be so if u can suggest anything that would help alot

Oh god....theres too much information asked for in that post...this thing would be pages long if I tried to tell u all that....but I'll give u a condensed version.

Arcane: Mana regen/Conservation
Fire: Straight up dmg, and burning power
Frost: Survivability, and kiting power, with pretty high dmg also

Obviously there are combinations such as arcane/fire, arcane/frost, fire/frost, frost/fire, etc depending on what kind of things you want to do.

Most people will go Fire for the largest part of there leveling process as this burn down mobs the fastest and that it what you want the most at your low lvl soloing times. Frost gives you the ability to kite mobs around because of its slowing abilitys, and some people will decide to go with a frost build once they reach the mid-range of lvls 30-40, but this is more then likely going to be changing now, with the nerf happening to mage AoE and the diminishing returns going to be applied to it now.

I'll list some examples of basic builds, and some more complex and harder to utilize ones that I have played in the past for reference to things.

Frost/Arcane build: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=o0xVZZVAMIofxRVo
Fire/Arcane build: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=k0xVZEgGzfccoxo
Arcane/Fire build: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=kbxqc0fzxhzZxgGzM
Arcane/Frost build: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=Rbxqc0fzxZZVAMc00xo
Frost/Fire build: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=RZxgGzZVAMfofxo0o
Fire/Frost build: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=RZxgGzf0coxoZVGMc0bo

Some more Complex ones:
Frost/Arcane/Fire: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=ow0qMZxMhzZVAM00fxo
Arcane/Fire/Frost: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=Rb...oZxrhzZmIMc00o

These are obviously not the only build out there for mages, there are many many different ones, and as to what each ones does, most of the are built for a balance between dmg output and mana conservation, all depending on what you want to do, and what your play style is, which is something you will find you develop as you play your mage throughout the lvls.

Here is another one I am using

lvl 60 - http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=of0VZZVVGcofxomot
lvl 70 - http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=Rf0VZZVAGcsfxsVot

It is a Frost/Arcane spec. Great Frost offensive spec. From the arcane tree you have arcane concentration which makes you occasionally cast with no mana needed, along with the mana reduce from the frost tree, you will not waste your mana as long and keep casting. Water Elemental is great for both PvP and PvE. For raids it will output additional damage from you, without giving you the hate. For PvP the ranged frost nova is extremely usefull. The 70 Spec is also for AOE farming as you have Cone of Cold and Blizzard maxed so you can use its fullest potential. Hope that helps.

I'm sorry to say, but WoW Character Law Section 1.8C states that any character with any variation of the word 'cow', 'bovine', 'beef', or any subset thereof in his/her name must, in fact, be a Tauren and so therefore cannot be a mage.

That said, I've always been a fan of FIRE FIRE!
