Game Lag

nUI is a great UI replacement but the main problem for me, (don't know if anyone else has this issue) is that it makes my game play laggy as hell. As soon as I turned it off and went back to my usual setup the lag stopped. I know its not my machine. I have a brand new top of the line iMac so that cant be the problem and my internet is working at 10 meg so that is not the problem either. If there is anything you can suggest to me to fix this please let me know.

When you are having it go laggy is it when you are in the middle of a 25 man raid ? If so try switching to Solo or Party Mode during the fight if possible and try that out. Of course if you use the unit frames to heal that would be a problem

Scott is currently working on a way to limit the *lag* aspect of nUI but the main reason it is happening predominantly in 25 mans is due to the amount of information it is dealing with in such a short space of time.

When I played I used to heal in 25 mans and always had to switch down to Solo or Party mode as I used healbot or grid to heal so the 25 man frames weren't as necessary for me. Just that change would move me from as little as 5fps up to 15 fps or higher depending on what is happening at the time of checking. But when I tried to raid without nUI I just couldn't. The normal blizz set up just doesn't work for me so I would rather step away from a raid and keep nUI than the other way round. But then that is me.

Frame rate drop is a known issue for some players as Xrystal already pointed out.

For starters, I *strongly* recommend following the instructions in the FAQ on this subject which you'll find here... http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=21716

Another thing that makes a big difference for many users is to reduce the "shadow detail" option in the video settings for WoW.

And, lastly, as Xrystal recommended, you can switch to the solo or party mode raid panel in combat which will typically resolve the frame rate issue.

Fixing this problem is my #1 priority for nUI6

Last night I ran the new 5 mans a couple of times. Much lag. I attribute it to everybody and his brother running the new 5 mans, rather than to nUI or some other addon (or combination of addons). Had the same problem in Dalaran, figure it was the same cause.

The lag i am referring to was happening just in normal game play and in 5 man Heroics. I will continue to mess around with settings and see what happens. I turned my video settings to minimum as well and that didnt work so ill keep looking for stuff to do and thanks for the suggestions.

First and foremost, regardless if it's a new machine, is to make sure your video card drivers are up to date. Sometimes, but not always, updating those will fix video lag issues.

I am facing a similar lag on my MacBook Pro since the 3.3 patch was released. I originally attributed it to heavy server usage due to new content but I continue to see the lag and it makes the game unplayable until I remove the NUI addon. I have not tried the recommendations above but will later tonight to see if it helps.

The lag is really bad in AV and moderate in normal terrain areas.

Quick update, switching to Player mode did the trick. In AV right now and played 5 mins in "40" mode and rest in "Player" mode. "40" mode sucked big time, unplayable. "Player" mode puts me back to normal.
