Stupid Question
On the targets HUD I see what looks like some scrible like MB or something. What is that? looks odd.

That's to show you that you are targetting an Elite mob. Same as the default Blizz style, Gold for elite, Silver for Rare & I believe also Silver for Rare Elite.
