message log not lining up

for some reason when i turned on wow today my log was floating above the box were it should be any idea how to fix it

Hmm, strange. Is it a special trade only chat window tab you created at some point ? Is it possible you may have moved it inadvertently and not realised ?

Press "escape" to bring up the WoW options menu and select the "Interface" option then "Social" and make sure the "Simple Chat" option is not checked.
