help with combo boxes

hey guys, i'm relatively new to working with mods here. i'm using the WoW ui designer to help put some stuff together. what i'm trying to set up right now is basically a toggle switch to turn my mod on and off. i'm putting it on a frame since there will be more options in the future, but right now just a toggle will suffice. i was able to set up my frame and insert a combo box, but i'm unsure how to link the box to a saved variable so i know whether or not this is enabled for the character. also i'd appreciate the most efficient way to turn the mod off if the toggle is set to off. currently my mod just looks for a specific chat event and responds accordingly. any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.
