Enemy Cast Bar Without Targeting

As the tittle suggests, I'm looking for an addon that'll show enemy cast bars under the name plates without actually needing to target. People have suggested Tidy Plats and Threat Plates, but this just seems to work when I target someone.

Anyone know any alternatives?

Nope. WoW only gives casting information for a few specific units - focus, focustarget, etc, etc. Unfortunately, "Untargetted Mob #3" isn't one of those units.

Basically, you have to be targetting them, or have them as focus, for WoW to send you actual cast info (like cast start time, spell's casttime, etc).

Yes, even the default UI nameplates have castbars under them, but only on the unit you're targetting.

It is possible, but there's haste and talents reducing casttime

I don't think you actually get the combat log entries for mobs that don't have a unitid - target, targettarget, focus, focustarget, partytarget, raidtarget, etc. Or if you do, the client doesn't give enough information to say which non-unitid'd mob is doing the casting.

Combat log has nothing to do with unitID, and guid is unique for each npc/player

You can only find out if a unit is casting, not what or how long.

for every SPELL prefixed event you're getting spellId, spellName, spellSchool.
Thus SPELL_CAST_START is going to tell you what at least

Someone suggested Overview but it was so messy, I didn't even wait long enough to see if it worked before deleting it. It supposedly adds cast bars to everyone and takes away pet/totem name plates, yet infact it seemed to have made them even bigger without showing what their HP actually was.
A hunter dropped a snake trap and all I could see was like 20 empty health bars eating my screen.
