Mini-map goes black inside cities/mines

I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong but I have my mini-map docked to the top left corner of my carbonite map as I quest, however, when I enter cities or mines the mini map will frequently go black. When I use my mouse scroll to zoom in or out the mini map, the minimap will start working again for a short time before it blacks out again.

Any ideas? I have always dock mini-map as well as always dock mini-map in cities checked in the options > minimap options.

The minimap is buggy in certain situations dealing with transparency. If not fully opaque, it will randomly black out as you change between indoor areas in cities. Set it to 100% transparent and it will be fine. That is a game rendering problem, which I have never found a way around.
