I'm not sure if this was supposed to be fixed yet or not, but here's my issue now:

In many of the revamped old-world dungeons, you pick up quests at the beginning. When you kill a boss, you are told to press the button to complete. But, I can't see a button when using Carbonite, so I end up having to backtrack to the beginning to turn them in.

I am using 109.

Easiest instance to test is Deadmines. Which will give you a quest to kill the first boss, and won't give you the quest to kill each subsequent boss until you turn in the previous quest.

My understanding is that you are supposed to be able to left=cliick on the tracking button to the left of the quest entry in the tracker (or perhaps the log) to complete it. I don't know about that, but I do know that if you alt-L to the Blizzard quest tracker, there's a button there labellled "complete quest" which works. — at least for starting area quests, and I believe the dungeon quests use the same mechanism.

I just tried left clicking on the tracking button to the left of the quest entry. That just says, "That objective is not in the database".

The alt-L method works though. Nice to not have to disable and reload UI. Thanks for that tip.

Something else I'm noticing.....every time I install an update to Carbonite WoW re-runs the non-critical updates, this has not happened when updating any other addon.

According to your log, you're using the 108 beta. Try the latest (109) beta, it might help

I actually upgraded within minutes of my last post. Still getting the same error. I really think this is a Carbonite issue, I had the same problem with the 4.013 update, it gave the same error and wouldn't load....however, reverting back to 4.012 worked fine....so it obviously isn't a Blizzard problem.

Thanks

Have now found it is a problem with the /wtf/account/########/SavedVariables/carbonite.lua file. Carbonite doesn't seem to like something in there, it's certainly not a permissions issue. If I remove this file Carbonite loads without problems. I have attached a part of this file. The line that produces the error seems to be in the NXGather portion.

If the worst comes to the worst, I'll just have to have a newly created carbonite.lua and lose all my favourites.

Thanks

Haavok gave me a new file today that fixes them. Will be in next version.

I only need the first error. The rest are often side effects of the first and useless.

Look at your Carbonite version number in the addons list. Make sure it says 4.030109.

That file is corrupt. It should have way more data than that. It is cut off in the middle of a table. Delete it.

The "That objective is not in the database" seems to be caused by not having "Show Quest Objectives" checked on the Blizzard world map. Press Alt-M and check it. I will be attempting to have Carbonite set that or remove the need for that setting to be on in the next version.

Hi, it's not the entire file as that is way over the 200Kb limit for lua attachments, I just attached the first part and the part that gives the error. Don't know if its of any use.

Thanks

You can delete part of all of the gather table, but it has to be from a proper start and end section.

I can't tell from what you posted, since the entire gather table is not shown. You can email the whole file to [email protected] and I'll tell you what I see.

Thanks, I'll send it when I get back from work. At the end of the day, I think I'll be able to manage without my old favourites if necessary.

BTW Carb looks / works great with my shiny new LUI3 interface.

Keep up the good work. Your time and effort is much appreciated.

For next version:
Disabled "Auto remove watched quests when completed" for self complete quests.

How do we get this newest version?

The download link you have there is still 4.013.

Edit: Aww, nevermind it's still in beta. I was thinking you had a release version.

It was late and I was tired. Not a good combination for a release version, so I'm hoping this evening after maybe a few more changes and good testing to do a release version.
