Key Bindings

I have had a lot of trouble with key bindings, on a number of my toons I have logged into to a Game message saying "really set all your key bindings to default". I always say no, but I have logged in to find all the key bindings I have set on the top row button bar are gone completely. I have redone them a number of times, but each time I log out / log in - they are gone.

This is on the Main Bar / Action Page #1 and I am using simple key bindings 1-0,0.,- and =

I was starting to post telling you there were several other threads on this subject, but then I caught the detail about the keybinding reset message.

That's *very* interesting. To the best of my knowledge this would have nothing to do with nUI but sure would explain the problems people have been reporting.

Can you tell me: Do you have *any* other mods except the core nUI installed? Have you tried disabling *everything* except nUI and logging in? Do you still get that message?

I have got that message once last week but can't remember which toon I logged into to get it. *sigh*. Probably one of my really old toons. But considering I reset all my WTF files and I don't have saving of keybindings saved locally it would be for the ones saved on the server.

I dont always get the message - but I am posting a screenshot anyhow.

I have dbm, recount, omen, actioneer, mike scrolling combat text, prat and lil sparkys workshop, gearscore and carbonite installed in addition to Nui+

Whenever I logout / login all keybindings are gone. Didnt have this problem before the new patch.

Im using both Windows 7 64bit and Mac OSX 10.6 - happens on both.

Can you do me a favor and try disabling all of your mods except nUI and then log in and see if the problem is still there?

Also, make sure WoW is running with administrator permissions.

That looks like a blizzard message about the per character or per account keybind option. Do you have that box ticked in the top right corner of the keybind menu? And is that message directly on log in or after exiting the keybind menu?

For me it happened the one time on logging in a character. Tried again today with no luck on all the characters I logged in recently. It only occurred on one character of which I cannot recall which. Most if not all of the characters should have per character keybindings but seeing as I reset all the WTF the week or two it should be as default.

I disabled all plugins and problem went away, in fact all my old key bindings re-appeared.

In fact I deleted anything in my addons folder starting with Nui and redownloaded and started again. This is what I found after loging out enabling one plugin and logging in again:

The problem was caused by a nui Infopanel plugin called "profesions" - which I did actually rather like. Disabling that addon resolved the problem.

The previous post was on a different toon.

On my main toon I found that if only have nui loaded, the problem goes away. I have I nui+ and deadly boss mods loaded, the problem re-occurs.

There's no code difference between nUI+ and nUI except the data for the extra unit panels. What happens if you disable DBM while running nUI+? Does the problem go away again?

I you run Nui+ with no third party addons there is no problem, I have noticed the problem occurs almost randomly with different addons enabled and disabled.

I thought it was dbm - it "solved" the issue on one toon, but not on another. I went through process with numerous addons ...logging in / out enabling addons. While I would like to state "it is caused by addon X" - I cant, because i got such inconsistent reults, so I gave up in frustration

This fault, and the "exploding gui" error I have also reported kind of make nui+ an unhappy denizen when other addons are loaded. While I can probably disable some of the addons that provide functionality that nui+ doesnt, I really cant imagine raiding with dbm running - its the defacto standard.

In general what is happening is that they key bindings are really still there - some other addon wipes them out at login. In fact you can go in and redo them - but when you remove all addons except NUI+ the original ones reappear.

That may be why I'm not seeing the problem, since I run without many other addons. I'll experiment and see if I can reproduce it based on what you're reporting here.

Most likely a /console reload will bring the bindings back for you, while it may not be ideal it's better than redoing them or logging in and out to fix them, Hope that helps until this issue gets sorted out, seems to be a pretty wide spread problem extending to non nui users as well
