Action bar button and assorted text sizes? help?

I love nUI+, but with my eyesight, combined with my widescreen monitor (1680x1050x60hz, fixed frequency, widescreen), I am getting serious eyestrain and headache issues because of the sizes of my action bars and the related text.

Is there any way to scale the action bars up, and their associated text as well?

In fact, a way to scale any and all text in the game, such as names floating over player/npc/object/critter heads, floating text, UI text, tooltip text, etc. would be wonderful.

I've tried a few addons for fonts, and even tried substituting 'easy to read' .TTF fonts from windows for the default ones, and so far this hasn't been much of a help.

At the moment the only way would be editing several files contained in the layouts folder. Each element that can be user defined is included so if you look for 'fontsize' that would be the value to change.

Also for buttons it would be specifically in the nUI_Layout_Default_Dashboard.lua file that you would look for the 'btn_size' I think value to change in each section. However, enlarging the buttons thats below or amidst the dashboard will overlap the main display.

The other option is to scale up your game display which will scale the interface accordingly.

Other than that Scott may be able to give you some pointers.

Yeah... this is a non-trivial task.

However, I'm not sure either one will resolve your issues. Some of the things you want to resize simply can't be sized (like the labels over player heads, etc.) I'm not sure if you can size tooltips or not, maybe... you would need an advanced tooltip mod to handle that.

Otherwise, making action buttons bigger will make the text they contain bigger as well. Modifying the unit frames is a MUCH larger problem as you would have to edit a lot of points in a lot of files.

To be perfectly honest, I would make three suggestions...

• If you can, play at a higher pixed resolution like 1920x1200 if you can... that will significantly sharpen the fonts which reduces blur and eye strain.

• As silly as it may sound, if you have prescription glasses, consider picking up a cheap pair of reading glasses at your local drug store that are stronger than your normal prescription... for us old blind people, it can greatly reduce eye strain,

• Consider looking for a larger monitor... that's the fastest surest way to "scale up" the entire UI and make the whole experience more immersive.
