Datastore is a completely separate addon than Carbonite. It's usually included as part of Altoholic, as that is who created both Alto and Datastore.

As part of the installation instructions to Altoholic and Datastore for 4.0, did you fully wipe these two addons from your Interface>Addons folder and also remove all their associated SavedVariables from the WTF folder?

That's where I would start as I have them both and have not had any errors at this time.
