global channels

when i log into the game my channels are not open.
is there a way i can keep them open? or
do i have to goto the settings everytime and open them up?

nUI should not be closing your channels. It doesn't interract with the chat frames other than to set the size and location. I'm not sure what the issue is there.

Are you talking about the normal chat frame on your bottom left or on the Infopanel chat frames on the right ?

If it is the ones on the right then bear in mind that the Whisper and GuildChat addons will not keep any channel settings you make between sessions. The Chat addon should do that. If it isn't and that is the problem you are reporting let me know.

When i right click on General tab on the chat box and go to Settings and then Global Chat and add them to that tab or any other tab, when i change to my map or log out they go to default or disappear and have to do it all over again.

Trade chat
general chat
local defense

Yeah, I gotcha now. Just tried out the map issue. Created a new chat tab. (ChatFrame6) and added 2 global channels to it. Bought up the map .. moved it, closed it. Checked the settings of my new tab and all as it should.

Logged out all the way to desktop, Logged Back in. Settings as expected on new tab.

I also have the Prat addon installed which may be keeping things current behind the scenes. Have you got any chat addons or not ?

I dont have the Prat addon. where can i find it?

Just do a search for Prat on this site but I'll test again without any addons and see if I see it working fine. I doubt Prat is making it work for me but was checking to see if you had a chat addon that may be making it not work.

Also:

What do you have Simple Chat and Lock Chat Settings set to in the Social Interface Options page ?

On my screen I have them both unchecked.
