Cast bar vs Quartz

I am a new wow player (you very late to join the party) and love the nui setup but the only thing I don't really like is the cast bar.

Is there anyway to remove the cast bar or replace it with the quartz addon which seems to be a more comprehensive cast bar with more detail info (and tbh a nicer look )

There looks to be a possible way by editing the nUI layout files to turn off the cast bar.

I've not done this myself so I am not sure how many changes are involved but a head start would be to look at:

Folder: \nUI\Layouts\Default\HUDLayouts\PlayerTarget
File: nUI_HUDSkin_PlayerTarget_Castbar.lua

Then look at the [Casting] section and you will see an enabled = true line. Change that to false and do a reload of the UI and see whether it turns off the cast bar.

Bear in mind that the folder is dependant on which HUD layout you use. The example above is if you use the PlayerTarget option.

Sorry for double post

I now have the issue that I don't want DoT ticks/debuffs to show and have tried disabling allsort of things and it seems to make no difference they always seem to show.

Any Ideas?

Found the Answer myself, you make the Player_Target Aura enabled = false
