Carbonite Lowering My FPS alot

I just recent completely re-did my interface, and noticed something when I put Carbonite back on. It was lowering my FPS 20-30%. In the open world I went from 80FPS to 60FPS, in some caves I went from 180FPS to 120FPS. Is there anything specific I can do to make Carbonite not quite so hard on my system?

My System

Core I5 3570K
16GB of DDR3 1600
EVGA GTX680

All video settings at maximum at 1080P, including AA, and Ambient Occlusion.
