Question about focus and minimap

When I am in an instance and healing a someone (generally the MT), I got my healing target as focus.
When I do this, my minimap is replaced by the focus unit frame, which is fine most of the time.
I also use Carbonite, but have setup Nui+ to manage the minimap.

However, when the RL is explaining something and ie pinging in the minimap, I do not have the minimap and cannot see his pinging.
Other than release my focus, is there a way to (temporarily) see the minimap?
Or should I have Carbonite handling the minimap (integrate it)?

I have searched the forum, but could not find anything about this and maybe I'm overseeing a thing. Any help would be appriciated.

Yeah -- unfortunately, if nUI is managing the minimap, the only option is to drop focus while the explanation is happening and then pick focus back up when it's time to melt faces.

Yeah thats what I end up doing myself but fortunately focusing on someone is easier now as I have a macro that does it for me for a target so can easily refocus without too much time wasted doing so.

Since you are running carbonite already, here are some tips as to what i do to improve my experience. First i would recomend disabling nui's handling of the minimap and integrate it into carbonite instead. I am also assuming you are using the mod that incorporates carbonite into nui_infopanels, if not you can get it at http://www.wowinterface.com/download...Carbonite.html. Then set wow minimap in carbonite to dock permanently to top left of carbonites minimap. Make sure Carbonites handling of the minimap buttons is disabled. You will probably also want to resize the wow minimap within carbonite minimap to a larger size to make viewing easier, i increased mine to 50. I also have punks and Carbonites handling of world map disabled but thats personal preference.
This will give you Carbonite on its own tab in the infopanel window with the minimap plainly visible in the left 1/4 of the carbonite infopanel window. The only downside to this is that changing tracking modes can be a pain in the rear.
