Character / Group UI dissapering.

When i joined the instance all things where fine, after some minutes my character UI & party UI was gone i tried to reload the ui with /nui rl & /reload ui it did not work so i had to delete my WTF map.


Also the plugin for Pally Power do not seem to work properly for me either or it do not work like in the screen shot showed.

So if any one have a idea why this happened and about pally power i would be really glad.

Can you post the screen for pallypower as I could only test with my level 4 pally so made it hard for me to see the results. However, someone else did try right up to 40 man raids and had no problems. You may have to tweak the row/column counts in Pally Power to help it fit into the window.

As to the UI problem. Is it possible that you accidently pressed Ctrl or Shift Z and hidden the UI and not realise it ?

At the "hide" UI combo no that was the first i checked

The UI in itself was there but not the Character or Group Frames.
Also the Unit panel got screwed when it happened.

Okay thanks for that. I'll try dual spec switching on my gal. I know in the past it wasn't a problem but 3.3 may have changed things in there somewhere.

Edit: Did you switch specs mid combat ? Or did they start fighting the moment you switched ? Or were you not fighting at all at least for a few minutes before and after switching ?

Well, can rule out combat lockdown as it simply won't let you switch specs then. However, I switched specs back and forth with no problems whatsoever. So the only other question is whether your group mate put you in combat a split second after you did the switch but before the frames were redrawn as switching specs would cause the mana bar to need to update and thus the frame as a whole may have been affected.

Could have been the problem. it probably was or something.


I hate that it also resets all my character settings when i switch chars...

Not only my keybindings in WoW but also my Healbot and other addons.

Any suggestion on how i can save those?

Make sure WoW is running as an administrator to make sure it can write saved variables.

Also... what happens if you click on the unit frame button to try and switch panels when this happens? (the empty red button under the chat frame)

Are you unit frames and whatnot permanently gone now, or did they just vanish while in the instance? Had you tried to do a '/nui rl' or anything like that while in combat?

Tried both /nui rl & /reload ui as mentioned above and i have to relog for them to go back to normal.

When you were trying to do the '/nui rl' were you in combat or out?

Are you able to get a working UI now?

have tried both in combat and out of combat, well after restarting WoW the UI seems to be back at normal but then again all keybindings are long gone.

somewhat fixable when you use /nui rl they will come back except for healbots keybindings.

Yeah -- it sounds to me like something is causing issues in your [ World of Warcraft > WTF ] folder.

Note -- there is *NO* relationship between nUI and key bindings in any other mod.

Are you 100% certain that WoW has write permission in the [ World of Warcraft > WTF ] folder? I might lose the bet, but I would bet money that's the problem based strictly on what I know so far.

yes i'm sure since Bartender 4 worked perfectly.

when i downloaded nUI i deleted all my addons and only downloaded nUI's plugins and the addosn for it, also deleted my WTF folder.

I do now have the "run as administrator" thing since my login is the admin and the only existing account also tweaked windows so the function is "deleted" basicly it runs all stuff as admins instead of making you right klick and press run as admin.

Bartender handles key bindings in a way different than the Blizzard default and appears to be about the only mod not suffering from this problem based on the feedback I've been hearing.

I'm thinking I may change how nUI does key bindings, as well. It seems, over time, that Blizz is doing more and more things that cause all mods to have problems (such as the garbage collector change, then the unit frame change and now a change in key bindings) -- they don't seem interested in fixing any of them, so it's up to the mod authors to find their own workarounds.

Yes sad enough blizzard are lazy when it comes around to stuff like this but then again i hope you find your way to change it, be cause right now it's kinda driving me nuts.

I like the rest of the UI and ofc when i get it to run as intended for me i will of course support you and donate since you are doing a good job and i'm to lazy to script and program addons.

Hi, this thread caught my eye, as I had similar problem, yesterday, while doing the new Heroics, on random dungeon finder. I tried in-game reset, as well, but no change. Finally had to log off, then back on, and player frames were back. However, once we started playing again, I lost player frames, and the box showing buffs, on the left side, above the chat box.

I have not had any problems with NUI+, until now. Fortunately, I was in my Shadow Priest spec, instead of my Disc...would have seriously screwed up my healing!

The only thing different I can think of, is that I've been changing the nui framerate, to see what happens. I had set it to 35, as I have a new I7 computer, with lots of power for gaming.

The problem also went away, as soon as I zoned out of Halls of Reflection...

Mr. Spiel, I don't consider this a big deal, at all, just wanted to FYI ya...I tried a lot of add-ons, in the effort to get my UI clean and functional, but yours has been the best I've had, by far...(two thumbs up, and Happy Holidays!!)
